Tour Wilmington North Carolina!

North Carolina Spring break is coming up for many children & students. Every year it seems that spring break comes earlier and earlier and with North Carolina, you never know what weather we are going to get!

My best friend Evelyn attends the University of Wilmington and I decided to come see her while she was on her Spring break this week!

First she decided to take me to a favorite of hers for taste, & her wallet! (Budget is crucial for the college kids lol) It was called Islands Fresh- Mex Grill. I later discovered they also have a location on the downtown strip! They had a fantastic taco special, and everything was bold in flavor! ONE DOLLAR TACOS EVERY NIGHT LADIES AND GENTLEMEN. We were lucky to had Mid 70's weather in early March so we decided to sit outside under the tiki umbrellas.

You can find more on facebook or their website!

Of course, I was extremely excited to see this sign! Im all about shopping local!!

After lunch, we decided to head to Wrightsville beach! I personally think the water was a little to chilly to be swimming, but their were a few who proved me wrong! This was a Wednesday afternoon but you would think it was the weekend with everyone hanging out on the beach! (Maybe they took vacation time to take advantage of the beautiful weather.) So many different activities!, Dog walking, flying kites, building sand castles, tanning, tossing the football, and searching for treasures with the metal detector.

..and HERE'S EVELYN! haha.

After crossing the bridge leaving the beach, we decided to take a beautiful drive down Airlie road. We passed the Fish house grill (facebook Website )  where I went for my birthday last year. They have fantastic seafood and you get to enjoy your food on the dock of the marina! Cruising by the channel, beautiful houses, Moss hanging from the trees, & the Airlie gardens (facebook Website). To my future brides, Airlie gardens is beautiful for sessions!

Later that evening we went for a walk around "the loop"  which is surrounded by beautiful views. The walk is beautiful as you pass over the channel, stroll through the strip, & even stop and give your dog a drink! (Facebook Website)

Next, we headed to a fairly new attraction, Defy Gravity. Defy Gravity is a trampoline sports park. This is a great budget friendly attraction! I did not take photos inside for my camera's sake lol. There is a Defy Gravity location local to the triangle area as well.

Beau's Coffee; a beautiful place with heart. Beau's coffee has a movement that was way overdue. Fantastic beverages and I purchased a souvenir mug!

You can learn more about this wonderful establishment on Facebook and their website!

We then continued our adventure to visit the USS North Carolina Battleship. If there is only one attraction you can visit while in Wilmington, this is it! This Battleship takes a huge place in our history in World War II. You can find more info on Their Facebook or website!

Evelyn giving a great demonstration to scale how tall these missiles are.

I used my foot to show you how huge this chain was for the anchor!

Lastly, We did what we do best, and that is shopping! Downtown wilmington is a beautiful place and has so much to offer! From the downtown shopping to even the Wilmington Railroad Museum!

We decided to have lunch at Paddy's Hollow & the crab dip was amazing!

As we were driving downtown I spotted Frost Street Brewery! I am a hug fan! You can find front street as well as other local and craft beers at The Cellar on Main in Downtown Oxford!

Wilmington is a beautiful place to vacation to and its a straight shot on I-40 from Raleigh! This Summer I will be traveling to my own backyard in Oxford to tell you guys about al of the awesome activities there is to do locally! Stay tuned and SHOP LOCAL!
